I've been looking for a bar in Temple where I can feel at home as one of the regulars, and I've just found the place.

Monday night (Jan. 27), Central Texans got a look inside the new BitBar behind Dynasty Chinese Restaurant in Temple.

It's a cool concept - you pay a small cover at the door, which gets you unlimited free play on all the retro arcade favorites from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Plus they'll have a full bar with beer, liquor, wine, and, we're told, Adult Butterbeer courtesy of our friends at Peggy's Coffee House in the Temple Mall.

The place was absolutely packed last night as fans lined up to meet founding Brat Pack member Anthony Michael Hall and get a look at the nostalgic games lining the walls. I spotted several of my childhood favorites, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Galaga, and Area 51.

The first person I ran into was a guy cosplaying as Saitama from One Punch Man, and there were Mandalorians, Imperials, and a variety of other characters walking around.

Given that co-owner Johnny Huang also organizes the Bell County Comic Con, I think it's safe to say we'll see plenty of cosplayers and celebrity guests in the future.

BitBar won't open for a few more weeks. Johnny says he and his business partner are hoping to be open in late February or March. Once they're officially open, you can bet you'll see me there often. I hope to see you too.

Check out the video above for a quick peek at what to expect once BitBar opens its doors.
