Twin Peaks fans finally had their prayers answers with word that not one, but as many as four new episodes would premiere on May 21, to say nothing of the confirmed 18-episode order. Now, Showtime and David Lynch address if said 18 will prove the last of Twin Peaks, when we might expect a trailer, and what role the prequel Fire Walk With Me might play.

Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival is still keeping its mystery intact, not telling fans exactly how much to expect, or even when, but some fresh coffee is finally brewing. Go behind the scenes of the 2017 premiere with first looks at a number of returning cast, as well as some new faces.

That 217-member Twin Peaks cast list left fans scratching their heads at least 200 times over, but in the case of Eddie Vedder at least, the appearance is not without purpose. The Pearl Jam frontman will contribute an original song to the 2017 revival, and you can listen right now.

Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival has frustrated anxious fans with some initial hiccups or an ever-uncertain schedule, and like the series itself, only more mystery lies in store. The network thinks they have Twin Peaks down to a mid-2017 premiere, but David Lynch’s “fluid” process makes an exact episode count difficult to pin down.

Being in the broadcast industry you would think I have a handle on almost everything that goes out from the media these days.
