The Liberian man who was diagnosed last month with Ebola, the first such case in the United States, died Wednesday morning at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

Texas health officials say they are monitoring as many as 80 people who came into contact with an Ebola patient in Dallas.

Five children who had contact with a man diagnosed with Ebola in Dallas are under observation in their homes. Officials say the children are displaying no symptoms of the disease and are being monitored as a precaution.

The Center for Disease Control has confirmed the first diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States, and it's at a Dallas hospital.
