Killeen police have a man in custody after a two-hour standoff that began late Monday night.

Fortunately, the officers and the three people were able to escape safely, but the man with the weapon remained inside the home.

SWAT was called to the scene, and a police spent two hours negotiating with the man before he was detained.

The case remained under investigation Tuesday morning, and police told News 10 charges were pending.

Neighbors were evacuated from nearby homes during the standoff and later allowed to return home.
