There is snow on the ground in parts of Texas this week. Remember that the 2018 Farmer's Almanac said this will not be a very fun winter as there will be plenty of cold temps to go around.

Central Texas is seeing this first-hand this week with Freeze Warnings and overnight lows below freezing in some spots. It's only November, folks!

Today in Central Texas cold and windy conditions are the big story. High temperatures will only reach the upper 30's and low 40's today. Wind Chills will stay in the 20s and low 30s all day. Some spots in Texas will see high temps that are 30 degrees below normal for this time of year. The record low temp of 23 degrees set in 1940 will be challenged this evening according to KWTX News 10.

Near 7 inches of snow fell overnight in Amarillo early this week with temps in the mid 20's. The wintery weather made roads slick and was a factor in some accidents in Amarillo yesterday.

As much as 7 inches of snow fell overnight in the Amarillo area, where temperatures fell into the 20s. The weather service said roads were snow packed but no closings were reported.
