Another artist who could play anything without being able to see.

I instantly loved the next Big Q’s Cassette Classic. I couldn’t tell you why when I was younger. It wasn’t until I went to school for broadcasting that I understood it myself.

The mixing of instruments just right to invoke emotion is a true gift. When Smoky Mountain Rain’s opening notes hit my speakers I was hooked. And years later when I learned to do it, I was even more impressed.

This song sort of gave me a glimpse into my future, which is why I will still put it on a Big Q Cassette, even today. Here is Ronnie Milsap, from 1980, with “Smokey Mountain Rain”.
