Showtime Announces a Return Trip to Twin Peaks

Get ready for another trip to Twin Peaks in 2016.

Today's landscape is full of shows on TV that are weird and shocking. Off the top of my head I come up with Scandal, How to get Away with Murder, and Sleepy Hollow. But all of these shows, and others like them, got their start with a little show called Twin Peaks.

I just caught the tail end of the premiere, and two guys in jail were barking at another person in the other cell. I just stood there looking at my Sony Triniatron and wondering "What the Hell". Which was pretty much what the rest of the country was saying. The first season of Twin Peaks was epic and everyone was asking "Who killed Laura Palmer?". Well the second season got even weirder, too weird it turns out, and the show was cancelled with the star getting possessed. A true pissed off cliff hanger. But, the show stuck with me, in fact, it was the first TV series I ever purchased in it's entirety, on VHS tape.

Well 25 years later I come to work and find this on the internet.

This is a 9 episode season. Will it live up to it's reputation? Will it be able to compete with its shocking offspring? I can't wait to find out.
