One woman is dead after a rock was thrown down from an I-35 overpass in Temple, Texas on Saturday evening.

KeSha Lopez with News 10 reports police responded to an injury related call in the 2600 block of I-35 near Belair Drive around 8:40 p.m Saturday evening.

Keila Ruby Flores was severely injured after a rock thrown from a railroad overpass smashed down through the windshield of her vehicle as she traveled down the interstate with her family. It's small a miracle Kelia was the only person injured in the car.

Police say the family reported traveling northbound on I-35 through Temple when someone threw a large rock off the railroad overpass between Exit 303 and Exit 305.

I can't imagine the shock of some rock shattering my windshield at I-35 speeds. Our hearts go out to Keila's family. She was the front seat passenger in the vehicle.

Flores was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hospital. She died on Sunday morning. While there is no suspect at this time, police are asking anyone with information about this to call Temple Police at 254-298-5500.

Information can also be given to Bell County Crime Stoppers through the P3tips App or by calling 254-526-TIPS (8477).
