KWTX has reported that Robert Griffin III wants to make a return to an NFL team.

Griffin III, has strong ties to the Central Texas area, being a former standout quarterback at Copperas Cove High School and Heisman trophy winner from Baylor University,

It's about five years since Robert Griffin III hoisted the Heisman Trophy, and he's ready to prove he can still make an impact on the field. In Robert Griffin III's rookie year in the NFL, he was drafted by the Washington Redskins, won NFL Rookie of the Year, and led them to a playoff berth.

Numerous injuries led to his time coming to an end in Washington, and the same happened during his short tenure with the Cleveland Browns. Griffin III hasn't taken a snap in this 2017 season, but definitely doesn't feel like it's time to put a wrap on his NFL career.

Griffin III made an appearance on ESPN's First Take, telling Stephen A. Smith that he's 100 percent healthy and ready to get back at it. Griffin said if a team gave him a call today, he's beyond prepared to get back in the NFL.

Griffin III said he had offers from the Cardinals and Ravens to join their rosters before the season started, but just felt they weren't good fits.
