Oscar Losers Get a Goodie Bag Worth $55,000
Sunday March 2nd you can see the Academy Award Ceremony on ABC. Only one will win in each category, (unless there is an unlikely tie), but don't feel bad for the losers,the consulation prize is worth 55 thousand dollars!!!!
It's a gift bag filled with free stuff like trips and pet food!
Here's some of the more expensive stuff in there:
A trip to Japan worth $15,000
A "Best of Vegas" tour package worth $9,000.
$6,000 worth of Halo Natural Pet Food.
Rocky Mountaineer Train Trip ($4,078.00)
A Steamist home spa system worth $2,650.
An art print worth $1,000.
A $500 house call from a nutritionist.
Then there's the cheap stuff:

But wait, there's more including trips to Mexico and Hawaii, expensive handbags, jewelry and shoes, and even vodka.

Of course ALL the losers don't get this good stuff, only the 'A' list people, the actors and directors, the ones who don't need free stuff. Sorry sound editing guy who didn't win, you just get nothing.
So what is the Little Gold Oscar Man worth? Depending on gold prices around $900 each. But you can't sell it for that much, in 1950, the Academy ruled that anyone who tries to sell or auction off their award must first offer it to the Academy for $1.
There are exceptions, if you won it before 1950 you can put it on eBay and get as much as you can.
