Nominations for the ACM Awards Have Been Announced

It's awards season and the Academy of Country Music have announced their nominations.

Doesn't it seem like we just had these awards? Well, we did, in September. The pandemic pushed the 2020 ACM Awards to September and now that the world seems to be getting back on track, it's time to get our awards shows back on schedule to.

So let's talk about who's nominated. Leading the way this year is Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton. Both have been nominated in six categories. Miranda Lambert scored five nominations while Ashley McBryde and Thomas Rhett each picked-up four nominations a piece.

Entertainer of the Year nominees are Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett. (No ladies were nominated)

Female Artist of the Year nominees are Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Carly Pearce and Kelsea Ballerini.

Male Artist of the Year nominees include Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton.

Duo of the Year nominees are Brooks & Dunn, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Maddie & Tae and Brothers Osborne.

Group of the Year nominees are Lady A, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, The Cadillac Three, and The Highwomen.

There are plenty more categories but those are the highlights.

This years show will be pretty much like lasts year's with the broadcast coming from three Nashville venues, the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Café.

My favorite part of an awards show is always the performances. There are times when you see a performance and it's better than the studio version. Of course that's not always the case but with Country music, it certainly can be.
