Robinson ISD Superintendent Michael Hope issued a statement Friday morning addressing rumors of a threat to Robinson High School that circulated on social media.

Our news partner, KWTX, reports that rumors spreading online that there might be violence at a pep rally Friday morning. Hope announced in a message sent to parents that there was no credibility to the threat.

“Last night a rumor that a student would possibly go to this morning’s HS pep rally to harm others was circulated via social media and texts," Hope wrote. "The Robinson Police Department acted quickly to investigate. No credible evidence has been found to substantiate the rumor. However, other students were found to have falsely generated and circulated the rumor which has caused a considerable disturbance to at least a portion of our community."

Hope also called for the community to continue working together to keep all the district's children safe.
