Growing up, one of my favorite things to do, while waiting for Gilligan's Island to come on, was to play with Play-Doh. It was so malleable, it seem to be able to enhance any "story" my mind was creating to entertain myself.

Of course, after playing with Play-Doh, was the fun time separating the Play-Doh.

"Gosh Mom, I have no idea how the Yellow got mixed with the Blue."

These days they make it out of food products so your kid won't die when he starts eating it. I don't know if you could eat it in the 70s. I really don't recall doing that, unless I shoved a chunk up my nose then picked it out and ate it. You know, for the shock value.

It was also the one thing that kids seem to care about putting the cover back on. Close the orange juice container...who cares. Cover up the pizza plate...Whatever. Go to play with Play-Doh and find the cover off and the Play-Doh all dried up. End of the World.
