Waco's Mayor Dillian Meek is urging residents to conserve water.

According to KXVV, the water system has a daily capacity of 76 million gallons to supply people across Waco. The current weather conditions it has been a strain on the water system.

On Tuesday, the Riverside Water Treatment Facility lost power which caused water storage tanks and towers to deplete. With the loss of water and residents hoarding water, the Mayor is asking for help to conserve.

To replenish the system, Waco residents must only use water when necessary and report all leaks as soon as possible. Contact the city at 254-299-2489 to report all leaks.

The last few days have been extremely and it's important that we work together to make things easier for one another,
