Here's a great way to have some fun and support a great cause.

The Alzheimer's Association's 'The Longest Day' is coming up on June 19th, the day with the most light, as people from across the world will fight the darkness of Alzheimer's. Locally, there will be a sun up to sun down cookout to raise awareness and money for The Alzheimer's Association.

KCEN-TV's Celeste Houmard reports that The Alzheimer's Angels will host this year's cookout at the Hilton Garden Inn in Temple, June 19 starting at 6:26 AM and ending at 8:36 PM. They'll serve breakfast taco meals 'til 10:30 AM to start the cookout, with burger meals served until sundown.

You can participate in this year's event by volunteering, providing supplies, or by preordering your meal by June 17 at 5:00 p.m. Preorder by email to TLDpreorder@gmail.com. They'll need your name, delivery address (some restrictions apply), phone number, and the number of breakfast tacos or burgers you want. Also your preferred delivery time (within a 30-minute window).

All donations will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association.

This promo video from last year's event explains what the day is all about. Again, it's from last year, so don't let the date they mention throw you off. This year's event in Temple happens June 19.
