Small businesses in the community are coming together for a Christmas shopping market.

This weekend you will have the opportunity to buy local and get your holiday shopping done early at the Christmas Market hosted by Waco Social. This unique event was curated after months of postponed events and local closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to KWTX, Courtney McCormick, the director of operations for Waco Social, said: "that after a year of disappointment, the group wanted to offer something fun for the community while also giving a boost to small businesses."

The Christmas Market is being held at Phoenix Ballroom starting Thursday and ending Saturday night. The weekend shoppers can purchase a VIP ticket for Thursday evening to kick-off that will allow first dibs on items, champagne, gift wrapping, and goodie bags.

With over 30 local vendors, shoppers can expect a wide range of items such as women's clothing, arts and crafts items, desserts, and more.

With the rise of COVID-19, Waco Social will operate this event at 50% capacity and ensure that all vendors are spread out and supplied masks.

General admissions are free, and doors open to the public Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information on purchasing VIP tickets, visit Waco Social
