Local Girl Scout troops don't have plans to let the pandemic hold them back.

Every year around this time, we're used to seeing our local Girl Scout troops outside of big stores like Walmart and CVS with their famous cookies, but things may look a little different this year.

According to KWTX, the 2021 cookie season began on January 20th and is set to run through February 28th. To ensure that the season is a success, they have several ways for the community to make a purchase.

Beginning this weekend from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, you can purchase the Grubhub delivery app, and all proceeds will go to the troop selling the cookies in your area. Some troops are even offering doorstep delivery by leaving door tags on residents' doors with buying information. Others are setting up drive through pickup at select locations in the CenTex.

If the pandemic has taught these young entrepreneurs anything, it's been the classic lessons of resilience and resourcefulness.

If you see a local Girl Scout troop out and about selling cookies, please support. These young women are working hard to keep their biggest fundraiser a success despite the challenging year we've all faced.
