Bar owners in Waco are starting GoFundMe pages to help raise money to pay employees.

I'm surprised we aren't seeing more of this. GoFundMe gives people a chance to donate money to projects and causes that need financial support. In fact, GoFundMe has raised millions of dollars for all sorts of different things.

I saw a story recently where a GoFundMe page was set up to help a Starbucks barista in San Diego who was berated on social media by a customer who was refused service after the employee asked her to wear a mask. Over 7.6 thousand people donated to the Starbucks employee, raising $100.000.

GoFundMe was a way for people to show support to that Starbucks employee and there are so many other GoFundMe pages set up to help individuals and nonprofit groups of all kinds. Even our favorite watering holes can benefit.

According to FOX44 NewsThe Dancing Bear in Waco has a GoFundMe page set up to help raise money to pay employees that are out of work due to the coronavirus. At last check, they'd raised a little over half of the $5,000 they are hoping to get.

The shutdown of bars in the state of Texas have put a lot of people out of work, and nobody is sure when these establishments will be open again. In the meantime, bar owners are looking for ways to take care of their staff. A GoFundMe page might be a great way to get the help they need.
