Everyone here at Townsquare Media would like to congratulate Rusty Garrett for his decades of service to Central Texas with Gray Television, Inc. as the senior forecaster for KWTX News 10.

The news came this week of Rusty's upcoming retirement from the airwaves and we wanted to make sure to spread the word so everyone one of our listeners had a chance to wish him well.

The full press release can be found here. The days ahead will feature a celebration of Garrett's legacy in Central Texas on the KWTX News 10 airwaves as he approaches his final broadcast on the evening of June 28th according to KWTX News Director Bob Walters.

Rusty became the chief forecaster at KWTX News 10 in 1989 and watched over the creation of one of the most advanced forecast centers in Central Texas. Rusty has been one of the longest-serving forecasters in the area as he is only the 4th person to hold the job in the 64-year history of the company.

Rusty has provided the weather on our group of radio stations for years so he will also be missed on the radio side of life as well. Rusty began his career on the radio while he was still a high school student in his home town of Victoria, Texas.
