We've all heard the phrase "curiosity killed the cat." This little kitten doesn't know how close it came to real danger. Thank goodness this story has a happy ending. It initially looked like it wouldn't.

At the Fort Worth Zoo, a very tiny baby cat was discovered Saturday wandering inside the habitat reserved for the Zoo's exclusive collection of komodo dragons. You know, those giant lizards which date back to prehistoric times. The dragons made a memorable cameo in the James Bond film Skyfall...

So if a burly Bond villain couldn't handle one of these reptiles, how could a small feline? Most certainly, these dragons would have had the ball-of-fur as an appetizer, right?

Then again, cats do have nine lives. Officials expect the kitty came from a feral cat colony near the zoo.

After being rescued, the kitten, named "Komodo" by her caretakers, was taken in by the Humane Society of North Texas. It was decided that she was probably too young to be put up for adoption as she looks about a month old.

On their Facebook page, the Society stated, "Yesterday we had a first for HSNT! This little kitten was found by the zookeeper, in the cage of the Komodo Dragon at Fort Worth Zoo and brought to HSNT for care. This feisty little girl was luckily, unharmed, she is quite a survivor! Now named Komodo, she is in foster care till she gets big enough for adoption!"

Kudos to the Humane Society and the Fort Worth Zoo for their kindness towards a small creature.
