COVID-19 has stopped so many professional, college, and high school sports, but it's good to see the City Of Killeen has activities for the kids.

The Killeen Parks & Rec is hosting a co-ed youth volleyball league and camp this fall, and registration is open now

The Killeen Parks and Recreation Department announced to the community Thursday that their youth co-ed volleyball league is scheduled October 17 through November 21 and is open to children ages 7 to 12.

The Killeen Community Center Player will hold ability assessments conducted by age division: 8 and under from 10:30 a.m. to noon, 10 and under from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and 12 and under from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The cost will be $50 per player through September 4 and $56 per player September 5 through 11th.

There is also a pre-season youth volleyball camp scheduled in September open to boys and girls ages 7 to 12.

Coach Eva Serrano will teach and develop key skills like serving, passing, calling and rotations.

This particular camp consists of three two-hour training sessions on September 19, September 26, and October 3 at Killeen Community Center.

Players will be divided by age group: 8 and under from 10 a.m. to noon, 10 and under from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 12 and under from 3 to 5 p.m. The cost is $65 per player.
