A Killeen man has landed back in jail months after overturning a conviction that left him imprisoned for more than a decade.

According to our news partners at KWTX, George Powell III has been arrested and placed in the Bell County jail on a bond revocation. Powell was recently featured on Netflix Docuseries Exhibit Awhich follows the stories of innocent people who were convicted on "junk science."

Powell was convicted in 2009 for an armed robbery in Killeen at a 7-Eleven convenience store, and was sentenced to 28 years in prison. In September of 2019, Powell was released pending a re-trial due to the fact that prosecutors did not disclose that their informant was offered a deal in exchange for his testimony against Powell. The informant also later recanted his testimony in 2016.

As a condition of Powell's release in September, he was required to wear an ankle monitor and live in Huntsville with his wife. On February 6, records show that Powell was charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as tampering with physical evidence. Further records report that Powell was arrested on March 28 and charged with driving while intoxicated.

KWTX reports that Powell was most recently arrested on April 7 for bond revocation, and online records report that he is currently incarcerated at the Bell County Jail.

I can't help but feel bad for the guy. I understand that we all make our own personal choices in life, but I also understand that sometimes it's easier to mess up when you're being watched so closely.

I hope that Powell can return to a "normal" life someday soon.
