Everyone thinks it's filled with hooves, nails, and butt holes, but it's mainly water & salt. People still suck them down every summer, and today it's National Hot Dog Day.

sausage. When I tell you what's in a hot dog, trust me, I know. Of course it depends on what kind of hot dog you choose to eat, but the main ones I made had lean pork, beef, old hot dogs, and back fat.

Right before I left, I was making hot dogs for the Seattle Mariners. They had some weird concoction. In other hot dogs we use old hot dogs that were warped, or under weight, but they would get so emulsified you wouldn't know what you're eating. But the ones for Seattle, they wanted you to see and taste the old hot dogs.

One thing you might not know about making hot dogs. We work in a freezer. People would show up with winter coats during the summer. Well, no matter how cold it got, if a hot dog exploded out of it's casing when we were making it, the mess would not be cleaned up until later that night. Raw hot dog meat will spoil when it hits the floor. And it will smell. I wasn't able to eat a hot dog of any kind for 5 years after I quit that job.
