If you are going to fall through the ice, you might as well do it while some firefighters are nearby practicing rescuing people who fall through the ice.

That is what happened to a  man (who may have been drunk) up in New York.

FDNY Rescue 1 firefighters were practicing water rescues in Central Park Saturday afternoon.  They saw this guy on the ice and told him to get off because it was too thin.  Did he listen class? NOOOO!

Next thing you know the ice breaks and he disappears into the water.

OMG it’s the training video in real 4D!  Firefighters already had their insulated gear on, they used ropes to tether themselves, crawled across the ice to the man and pulled him out. The whole rescue took less than two minutes.

Normally, the response time to that location would have been 10 minutes, and by then it could have been too late, instead the man is doing fine.
