Humane Society Rescues Over 50 Dogs from Horrific Home in Central Texas

The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) Cruelty Department rescued more than 50 dogs from a residence that investigators needed Hazmat suits to enter.

According to a post from the Humane Society of North Texas, HSNT partnered with the  Hill County Sheriff’s Department to save over 50 dogs from a home covered in urine, feces, and trash.

Remarkably, the owner was still residing in the home despite the vile conditions. The poor dogs were infested with fleas and suffering from an alarming assortment of ailments like skin conditions and numerous types of intestinal parasites including hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms.

HSNT reported that many of the female dogs were pregnant or had recently given birth. The puppies and their mothers can be seen pictured in filth, with faces longing for safety and care.

Law enforcement is said to be heavily involved in this case, and there is an ongoing investigation with the Hill County Sheriff’s Office. Unfortunately, HSNT has stated that while they were able to rescue over 50 dogs, there were more at the residence that were not able to be captured.

"There are several feral dogs that were unable to be caught. The County is currently working with numerous other rescues who are setting up traps so they too can be saved."

Thank goodness that these dogs were able to be saved, but HSNT would like to remind the public that donations are urgently needed to ensure that more animals can be rescued. HSNT is also in critical need of fosters who can help rehabilitate animals after being rescued.
