I feel bad for the fans of the NFL who are too young to remember the Houston Oilers.

Before we had the Texans, we had the Oilers. From the high-powered offense featuring Warren Moon to the snarky defense of Buddy Ryan, this team was a lot of fun to watch.

Coach June Jones remembers being on the staff of the Oilers before the team left town for Tennessee, and now he is getting another chance at coaching football in Texas.

A former assistant coach with the Oilers and Gamblers, Jones has just accepted the job of head coach for Houston's new XFL team. At 67, Jones is leaving his position with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League to return to Texas.

Jones coached with Gamblers in 1984, and the Oilers in the 1997-98 season. He has also spent time with the NFL franchises in Atlanta and San Diego and has college experience under his belt with Hawaii and SMU.

XFL Houston will play its home games at TDECU Stadium.
