I just saw on the news where Amazon.com is trying to get more Prime subscribers at $99 a year. I've been a Prime subscriber for about three years now.  It's worth every penny. If you're the type who doesn't like going to the store every other day and prefers buying items in bulk, Amazon Prime is for you. Trust me.

Our neighbors to the south in Travis County were added about a year ago to "Prime Now,"  the new Amazon.com same day delivery service. Yes you heard that right: order it today and if you do so with enough time, the item will be delivered to you directly the same day. After starting out in New York,  this too good to be true service spread to other cities, including Dallas.

Ah ha!  Now you know what I'm thinking! One hour north of Austin and two hours south of Dallas is Bell County.  See where I'm going with this?

Why can't we add Bell County to a greater Texas service area?  I'm sure somebody give me a logistical answer one way or the other.  We are already a hub for transportation and distribution with Wilson, McLane and competitor Walmart here in Bell,County. There's always room for more jobs.

Amazon is also expanding a service where they would leave packages at a drop off point located inside a local business. In other words, you would order what you needed, it would be  dropped off at a central location and you would come pick it up. This would certainly save delivery time if all Amazon had to do was to stop off at a local store, perhaps a CEFCO or Stripes.

But Amazon's plans may be even bolder: two hour delivery! Wow, they are really going to need those drones.

Although it's not available here yet, we can still lust about it on the Amazon Prime Now page.
