Many people lost food during last week's snowstorm due to power outages, and now the Central Texas community is stepping up to help those in need.

There will be a food and water distribution today at a couple of notable locations.

Destiny World Center 101 N. W.S. Young: At 4 pm, they are having a semi-load of food and water delivered today In Killeen, and the event is open to the public!

According to the Killeen Daily Herald, Churches Touching Lives For Christ at 702 West Avenue G in Temple will also distribute groceries such as meat, dry goods, and basic necessities.

Also, residents in Temple, Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Fort Hood who are WIC recipients will be provided with replacement benefits.

It's good to hear that there are people and organizations out there willing to give a helping hand.

Now if we could get help on those expensive energy bills we are off to a great start at living life normally again.
