Harker Heights police say a suspect remains at large after an assault that left a man hospitalized.

Police responded to a report of an assault in the 1600 bock of Yuma Trail at 7:34 AM Monday. When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from serious wounds. The victim was able to provide detectives few details about his attacker, but it was enough for them to obtain a warrant.

Meanwhile, the victim was transported first to Seton Medical Center, then via helicopter to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. The victim was listed in critical condition.

Police have not released the name of the suspect, but were able to obtain a warrant charging Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The Harker Heights Police Criminal Investigation Division continued to investigate the assault Tuesday afternoon and there'd been no word of an arrest. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
