UPDATE: Stores in from Waco to Copperas Cove will operate from 10AM to 5PM Tuesday, February 16.

UPDATE: H-E-B shaved two hours off of Monday's closing time Sunday in response to worsening conditions. The change has been made below.

With a winter storm moving into our area this weekend, the folks at H-E-B will be limiting store hours at locations across the Waco-Temple-Killeen area Sunday and Monday.

In a news release, the Texas grocery giant announced that Central Texas stores will operate during the following hours:

Sunday: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

More store hours across the state can be found here.

According to the company's announcement, the limited hours are necessary because the extreme weather conditions could delay the delivery or products to stores. The company also said there will be reduced slots for their curbside and at-home delivery services.

If you do go to H-E-B or any store during this mess, please only get what you need for the week and leave some for your friends and neighbors.

Our partners at News 10 have been forecasting record cold temperatures along with sleet and snow beginning Sunday morning. Temperatures will dip into the single digits Monday and Tuesday according to meteorologist Sean Bellafiore.

Hopefully you don't have to be out driving in these conditions, but if you do, please take it slow and give yourself plenty of time to leave in the morning and get where you're going. By now, most of us have seen images of the horrific pile-up that happened in Ft. Worth Thursday morning. Please don't be a part of making something like that happen here in Central Texas.

A local mechanic recently shared some great tips on warming up your car without doing costly damage to it. You can read about that here.

Be sure to bring in your pets and let them hang out inside. If you absolutely cannot do that for some reason, please make sure they have access to warm, dry shelter out of the wind with insulation and something they can safely and comfortably nest in. But really, you should bring them inside. It's far too cold for them to be outdoors right now, and frankly it's just cruel to leave them out there.

Make sure you've wrapped or otherwise taken measures to protect pipes and outdoor faucets, and be sure to drip your indoor faucets.
