I'm not a drummer. The concept of independent rhythm between two sides of the human nervous system seems unsurmountable to my brain. That's why I have such respect for Buddy Rich, Keith Moon, John Bonham, and other percussive geniuses. How do they make the sounds we hear with just two hands, two feet and wood?
