As a fan of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang since I could remember looking at the funny papers, the news item about the family of the late Charles Schulz selling a prime spot of Central Texas real estate naturally piqued my interest.

A while back it seems the elder Schulz purchased not-so-desirable parcels of land in various cities across the United States in order to diversify his portfolio of investment holdings.  I've always been told land is the safest investment of all - don't quote me, I'm no financial adviser - and a parcel this desirable in one of America's great cities would certainly be worth a pretty penny, a lot more than a Peppermint Patty.

Currently, the site is home to a Hooters restaurant. Good grief! I can't see Sally or Lucy or the famously tomboyish Patty finding work there, so it must have been purchased specifically for its fiduciary value.  Those girls just don't have the shape for it.  Now Daisy Mae from Lil' Abner is another story!
