Foreigner “4” & Journey “Escape” Go Gold

Today, in 1981, the first two cassettes I ever bought went Gold and Platinum.

My Dad ran a pizza joint when I was younger.  When I turned 14 he got me a job washing dishes. Minimum wage was something like $3.35, I got 2 bucks.  But since I wasn't supposed to be able to work yet, I took the two bucks.  When I got my first paycheck, the first thing I did was support the economy.  Yep, I spent it.  I picked up two cassettes.  Foreigner "4", and Journey "Escape".  Every song was great on both cassettes.  I soon would learn that would not always be the case, but who new that the first two music choices I made would be two iconic LP's that would stand the test of time.

Well, on this day in 1981, not only did both albums go Gold, they went Platinum as well.
