Florida amazes the nation once again as it prepares for Hurricane Dorian.

Growing up in south Louisiana, I pretty much saw it all when it came to Hurricane preparations. Duct tape on the windows, sliding glass doors, garbage cans…you name it, somebody, somewhere duct taped it.

You can imagine my surprise when I saw a chick in Florida with an entirely new use for duct tape in combating storm damage. She wrapped her entire house in plastic, secured by trusty duct tape.

According to Jacksonville television station WJAX, Brittany Vidal’s home flooded during both Matthew and Irma. At some point she wants to raise her house.

I gotta give her an “A” for effort, but an “F” for functionality. While the plastic may stop rising water in the short term, the hurricane force winds will make mincemeat of that plastic almost immediately. But hey, it is the thought that counts, right?
