You may have heard the rumors of new combination Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores, but now we have the definitive answer.

According to a report from CNN, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores are planning to expand in 2021 by opening more locations and even building 50 new "combination stores" that will offer customers the opportunity to shop both brands.

To be honest, who even knew that Dollar Tree and Family Dollar are owned by the same company?

Apparently the acquisition of Family Dollar into the Dollar Tree organization occurred in July 2015. Then in 2018 the company decided to merge their support centers to "invest in future growth."

Well that growth has come, and now we as consumers can fully celebrate that merge by saving A LOT of money.

Personally, I've always preferred Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores over Dollar General. When I shop at a dollar store, I expect to get the most bang for my buck. At Dollar General stores I find that the pricing is too similar to your regular grocery stores like H-E-B and Walmart.

I'm at a dollar store to save money. If your prices aren't lower than the big store competitors then why even call yourself a dollar store?

At Dollar Tree I always find amazing prices. Why? Because everything really is a dollar! The Dollar Tree is literally the place to go when you want to "ball on a budget." Now with the new combination stores, I can find even more amazing deals by simply walking next door.

This might be the best news of 2021.
