My parents will celebrate 50 years of marriage next July. It baffles me how two people can spend that much time together. Growing up, I have fond memories of my father's Irish temper getting the best of him, and in response, by mother laughing. I'm guessing that is why their marriage works. My mother's laughter seemed to bring him back down to Earth. Most people respond to things going wrong with the Irish solution. Blind anger, followed cursing, then more anger. Sure wish everyone could respond like this guy.
