Students at South Garland High School just outside Dallas were going to have their prom at Park Lake Ranch. They put down a deposit and everything.   But they recently got word that Park Lake Ranch went out of business.  Uh Oh!

Now they had to find a new place for the prom, one that they could afford by April 26.

Everybody was scrambling, word spread and a number of venues stepped up and offered space to the students. The Texas Rangers, Hilton Anatole, community centers, Southfork Ranch and the Dallas Cowboys offered A T T Stadium.

Oh my which one to choose, the Principal took the Cowboys offer.  The prom will be on the Pepsi Platform at A T&T Stadium.

Watch the students reaction after she told them.  And it took her a long time to tell them.  (This is why kids fall asleep in class)

Dallas news.com says Cowboys special events sales associate Regan Hansen found out about the problem and, on Monday, reached out to principal Tracy Curtis.

“Being a senior prom, nobody wants to find out a month before that it’s not happening,” Hansen said. “I figured there’s got to be some way we can make this perfect for them.”

And people are still giving.  Class officer Allen Capasgordo said. “The community outreach has been unbelievable.” Alumni from every decade donated at a fundraiser on Saturday. An online website was also available for donors, who contributed enough to offset the Park Lake Ranch investment. (The students haven’t gotten their 4500 dollars back yet).

Dallasnews.com reports the ticket price will be the same as planned for the North Dallas site and the school is working on chartering buses to get everybody there.

You just know this is going to be the best prom ever!
