Killeen police need your help finding a couple of accused con artists who may have watched the movie "Paper Moon".

Well that's where I first heard about the old money switcheroo.  First let's see the suspects.

These two are accused of conning a cashier at the Killeen Hobby Lobby. According to a KPD press release this is what happened.

On January 24, a man and woman were at the Hobby Lobby trying to buy a small ceramic pot. The man asked the cashier to break a $100 bill. Done.  The man then confused the cashier when he asked for more change, and the cashier not realizing it, gave the man an extra $100. Then, creating a diversion, the woman dropped the ceramic pot. She left the store amid all the confusion, stealing merchandise in the process.  The man eventually left the store too.

It sounds like they did what Ryan and Tatum O'Neal did in this scene from the movie "Paper Moon".

I think Ryan got away with 10 dollars and some change.

Of course in the movie it was cute, in real life it is not. Detectives are asking anyone who can identify the Hobby Lobby thieves to contact Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477) or go online anonymously at bellcountycrimestoppers.com or text BELLCO anonymously along with the tip to 274637.

All information is confidential and if your tip leads to the arrest of the suspects responsible for this crime, you could be eligible to receive up to $1,000.
