Copperas Cove: Alum Receives U.S. Navy Sailor of the Quarter Recognition

A sailor from Copperas Cove has picked up a huge honor as U.S. Navy Sailor of the Quarter.

Congrats go out to Copperas Cove High School graduate Joseph George. He graduated Copperas Cove High School in 2016 and is now stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard the George Bush. As the U.S. Navy Sailor of the Quarter, George will now compete for the U.S. Navy Sailor of the Year honor.

KWTX reports that serving in the U.S. military runs in the George family. His dad served in the Army, and his brother Lewis, a 2019 Copperas Cove graduate, is also serving in the Navy and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard the Stennis.

Joseph and Lewis George's mom, Camille, is a teacher at Copperas Cove Junior High.
