You just paid 20 dollars for a thrift store couch, you take it home and find 40 thousand dollars in the cushions, what are you gonna do now?

They bought the couch from the Salvation Army, and for a couple of months it just sat there in the tiny apartment, until Reese Werkhoven decided to find out why it was so lumpy and uncomfortable.

He opened one of two cushions on the arm rest and pulled out a bag, inside a stack of hundreds and fifties, inside the other cushion more money, over $40,000!

The three were thinking about all the cool things they could do with that money, until they found the deposit slip. And then it was a question of, "How do we find the woman on the slip?".

They managed to track her down, turns out she is a 91 year old widow, who had recently broken a hip.  She was in the hospital.  While she was there her kids, (who knew nothing about the money), donated the couch to the Salvation Army.

The three reunited the “Widder Lady" and her money, they got a $1,000 reward and they kept the couch!
