As Temple continues to grow economically and population-wise, more projects  to improve our roads and public spaces are in the works.

One such project will be the top of discussion at an open house being hosted by the City of Temple and TxDOT at Joe M. Pirtle Elementary School Tuesday, December 3rd from 6 PM to 7 PM.

The latest phase of the Outer Loop Project would expand 2.5 miles of Old Waco Road between Jupiter Drive and I-35 in west Temple. Crews would construct a four-lane divided road with curbs, gutters, and a hike-and-bike trail.

At Tuesday's open house, the public will be encouraged to provide feedback and concerns about the project. There'll be maps on display at the meeting to give citizens an idea of where improvement projects will take place, alternatives, environmental constraints, and the geometric design.

If you can't make it to the meeting but still want to provide feedback, you can write to TxDOT here. You can also mail written comments to TxDOT Waco District, C/O Temple Outer Loop West, 100 South Loop Dr, Waco, TX 76704. Written comments must be received or postmarked on or before Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Your comments could be included in the next public meeting.
