Great news Central Texas: Gold's Gym has set Monday, May 18th as their open date. Of course with the open date also comes some new rules and regulations for sanitizing and social distancing.

from FOX44 News reports that Gold's Gym locations in Killeen, Copperas Cove and Waco are all re-opening but with new hours and and new sanitation guidelines and new hours.

Monday - Friday 5a - 9p, Saturday and Sunday 7a - 7p. The gym will close daily from 1-2p so staff can clean and restock cleaning supplies. If you are in the gym working out at 1pm, you can still finish your workout but no no other members will be allowed in until 2pm.

For the time being, members will only be able to use cardio machines, free weights and strength machines while The Kid's Club, Gold's Studio, pools/saunas/steam rooms and cycle rooms will remain closed.

The opening is in compliance with the latest executive orders from Gov. Abbott, which allow all gyms to reopen at 25% capacity as of 12:01 AM Monday, May 18. Also included in the May 18 reopenings will be offices of five or more people (at 25% capacity) and manufacturing facilities that had been closed as a precaution (again, at 25% capacity).

If you're not sure about your regular gym's plans to reopen, reach out to them on social media or try calling them. (You'll probably have better luck with social media right now.)

So there it is, Central Texas. Now it's time to work off that quarantine 15, or in my case, the quarantine 25.
