Hey Der Everyone,

You ever find out you were almost the best at something when you weren't even trying?  You didn't set out to be the best, but since you came close without trying, you might as well give it an effort and see if you can't win it the next year.  I'm guessing that's what my old homestead did.  North Dakota came in 2nd last year in the "Biggest Beer Drinking State" to New Hampshire.  Well my relatives and friends fought hard this past year and was able to over take New Hampshire for the state that drinks the most cans of beer.

24/7 Wall St. posted the results from the Beer Institute, and it turns out the "average" American drinks 301 cans of beer.  Unless, that is, if you're from North Dakota, then you drank an average of 489 cans per person.  That's also an average of 45.8 gallons per person.

Don't think it's much of a surprise that Utah came in last place.  I guess they can have a new state slogan, "Utah, More Wives than Beer"

The rest of the of the top 10 "Big" drinkers include New Hampshire, Montana, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nevada, Vermont, Nebraska, Texas, and Maine.  On a personal note, I'm very disappointed in Minnesota.  Come on guys, don't forget the six pack when you go ice-fishing.  Of course you notice that most of the states are "cold weather" states.  If you woke up half the year or more to this sight, you might tip a few back as well.
