Hey Gang,

I grew up normal, but, it turns out, I grew up weird.  I didn't think about it at the time, but then, who does, but it turns out I didn't have a "normal" childhood. As I was growing up in a two parent home, the rest of the world was slipping into dysfunction and divorce. During the late 70's and early 80's, whether it was Womens lib, key parties, or some other sexual revolution event, the divorce rate was on the rise, but in my world, I honestly didn't know what divorce was.  The thought that parents would split up was inconceivable (INCONCEIVABLE!) to me.

All my core friends had parents that were still together.  And if they didn't, it was because one of the parents had passed away.  I was being raised old school, but because everyone else was slipping into the divorce divide, it turns out I was in the minority.

Why is this an issue you ask.  Because of the next thing I have to say...It was on this day in 1966 that two, very young, small town kids, stood before God, Family and Friends, and proclaimed their love for each other.  Happy 47th Anniversary to my Parents.  Here is one of their happier times in those 47 years, making sugar cookies with their grandchild Chloe.

I would've put up a picture of their wedding, but some white trash rednecks stole my computer a few years ago.  Hope you die meth heads!  Good thing I'm over it. ;)
