Hey Gang,

I read for a living.  Occasionally, people will hand me a script and expect me to read it perfectly right off the bat.  It doesn't work like that.  The best "read" is done after you rehearse multiple times.  This way you find your focal points, where you should pause, and where you should emphasis.  In my production room, rehearsing is easy, but if you're live on the air, sometimes you don't have time to rehearse.  You are just handed something and told to read it.  This is called a "dry read", and it can be painful.  I like to play a game to keep me on my toes, or to keep me humble.  I call it Dry Read Shakespeare.  Take a look at this debacle.
