Even a simple trip down a lazy river on an innertube can quickly turn dangerous if swimmers are not prepared. Sadly, we've had a drowning occur on the San Marcos river over the weekend. The video above offers some great safety reminders for those looking to enjoy some tubing this summer.

Shawna M Reding with KVUE.com is reporting a fatal accident took place on the San Marcos River in Martindale, Texas over the weekend.

A 26-year-old man went missing June 15 while tubing on the San Marcos. His body was found the following day. Texas game warden Joann Garza-Mayberry told KVUE that Ryan Hyman was tubing with his friends when he swam off on his own toward a lost tube that belonged to his group. Onlookers saw him struggle in the water. His friends weren't able to swim to him in time to assist. Two other bystanders jumped in the water but could not reach him before he sank below the surface.

The morning of June 16th, game wardens and the South Hays Fire Department Dive team, and officers from the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office found Hyman's body near Texas State Tubes.

Guadalupe County Sheriff's Officers are investigating the death. It is not known if alcohol was involved at this time.
