A Big ‘Thank You’ to K 101-7 Listeners for a Great Year

K 101-7 listeners are a fun bunch that loves the great music featured on the station.  2014 was a great year for K 101-7 that saw the return of the Party Pontoon, a ton of new ears finding the station and even the federal government offering their endorsement.

Every Sunday over the summer, Old School Boat Rentals got us out on Belton Lake for the Party Pontoon.  There was tubing, swimming, lots of giveaways and a few too many sunburns for me.  We look forward to warmer weather and the return of the Party Pontoon in 2015.

K 101-7 also took a big step forward in 2014 with the official endorsement of the federal government, specifically the Post Office.  As you can see, during a recent visit to the Belton Post Office to mail a package to my sister in Kansas (different story on why that package had to be mailed can be found, as well) I noticed K 101-7 playing through a radio placed by the window.

I know the painstaking process it takes from time to time to pick up the K 101-7 signal.  I like to say it's not the size of the signal, it's the waves you send out that matter most.  We do more with less than just about anyone around.  I knew from personal experience that the radio was by the window because that's the only place the station would come through clearly.

Going off personal experience, that was probably the 10th different place tried for the best signal.  You can pick up a crystal clear signal one day, then nothing but static the next.  That's why the online stream and the portable Radio PUP app for tablets and smartphones are so helpful.

That's also why I love K 101-7 listeners.  It's almost like a speakeasy, where only the cool kids know the secret to picking up the radio station.  I certainly appreciate the effort of the staff at the Belton Post Office to pick up the station, and I definitely appreciate the label attached to the top of the radio.

That, by my best judgement, counts as an official endorsement by the US Postal Service.  I hope no one gets in trouble for offering the unintentional endorsement, but we'll happily take it.  Thanks for your support.  We look forward to a great 2015.
