5G has Arrived in Killeen

Working from home is about to get much faster!

Hunter King with the Killeen Daily Herald reports that AT&T 5G service is now available here in the Killeen/Temple markets.

Killeen/Temple was chosen as one of the 137 new markets to get AT&T 5G which is now available in a total of 355 markets and available to 179 million people across the US.

Chris Sambar, the executive vice president of technology operations at AT&T, says, "While many of us have been working from home for the past three months, AT&T’s network team continued to build and test our network so that we could emerge from this season with stronger, broader 5G coverage for our customers across the country. Whether it’s getting you back to work, back to school, or back to play, we’ve got you covered with the fastest wireless speeds in the nation.”

So, what is 5G? The fifth generation of wireless networks. It brings faster speeds, instantaneous communication, and the ability to network everything. (You may have heard recently that Fort Hood is one of three military installations that will be testing ways the armed forces can make use of 5G.) Have fun with that, AT&T customers.
