A 12 year-old Texas boy led deputies on a chase Sunday afternoon after he stole a four-wheeler.

According to KWTX, Hill County deputies were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Bogey Drive around 3 pm Sunday, where a father reported that his son had taken his brother-in-law’s Polaris 800 four-wheeler without permission.

The boy was spotted "flying" on the vehicle about an hour later. A few minutes after being spotted, he crashed the four-wheeler near the intersection of CR 1236 and FM 1713. The kid complained of hip pain and was airlifted to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.

A second person was injured, but no additional information has been released.

Four-wheelers are a way of life in Texas, and while they're cool and everything, we've heard too many stories of kids driving them recklessly and being seriously hurt or killed. Ride the way mom and dad taught you. It's better than ending up in the hospital or a pine box.
