In between Who records, in 1980, our guy Pete "The Windmill" Townshend releases the album Empty Glass, from which is birthed a single that charts as high as any Who song. The tune in question went all the way to number 9, equaling the chart performance of the Who's high charting hit, "I Can See For Miles."

The song, which Pete has called "Just a ditty" and which features two players who would go on to be in the 80's band Big Country, has gone on to have a long long life in movies, trailers and commercials, including this mix from one of my favorite films, Grosse Point Blank."
